How PBCSAC plans to help the Community

PBCSAC HIV prevention/education and testing project will utilize the NIDA community-based outreach model to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS amongst young people and current or former drug users. PBCSAC will also implement community PROMISE which is a community level HIV/STD prevention intervention that relies on role model stories and peer advocates to reduce the high-risk behaviors and increase engagement related to the HIV continuum of care.

Together, the long-term vision of our prevention services is to reduce the risk of HIV transmission, reduce the rates of substance use among our populations of focus and ultimately reduce new infections and addictions in Palm Beach County.
