Tobacco Cessation
Stop Smoking. It’s addictive, costly and shortens life.
Decades ago, people could buy cigarettes and smoke almost anywhere -- even hospitals. Ads for tobacco were seemingly everywhere.
Today, we're all more aware about the dangers of smoking. Smoking is restricted or banned in almost all public places. Cigarette companies are no longer allowed to advertise on TV, radio, and in many publications.
Most people know that smoking causes cancer and heart disease. It can shorten life by 10 years or more. The habit can cost a smoker thousands of dollars every year.
So how come people are still light up? The answer: addiction.
Tobacco contains nicotine, which is highly addictive.
We still have a long way to go to prove that smoking isn’t cool. And just because your family members or friends smoke, it doesn’t mean you should as well.
